It is sometimes very difficult for a magician to establish himself instantly as a COMEDY performer. This is the ideal opening or closing item to ensure that you keep the audience laughing.
The performer walks on stage holding a suitcase which is placed down at one side of the stage whilst he moves forward to talk to the audience. He explains that the management have told him he must “go like a bomb” with his act or he will not get paid. “My first trick will BLOW YOUR MINDS”, he says ....... suddenly there is a LOUD EXPLOSION and the suitcase BLOWS APART .... the front and back of the case clattering onto the stage as the audience double up with laughter. The suitcase is fitted with an electronic time delay system so that the explosion happens long after the performer has walked well away from it.
