A ball at the end of a string, a small metal ring and a clear box. The simplest of props. The ring is threaded on the string where the ball keeps it imprisoned. The other end of the string is threaded through a hole in the lid of the box. Obviously, the ring cannot escape from the string. Yet, just one shake and the ring is free.
