Bigblindmedia presents The Big Kick by Liam Montier (BBM387)

Comes with special Bicycle Deck - everything you need to perform included!

'The Big Kick' is the perfect self working trick - in fact, it is basically a mini-act, with predictions, a classic gag, and then a full-blown monster kicker that NOBODY sees coming!

No sleight of hand. No gaffs. No sticky/rough Stuff. Ends examinable. Fast reset.

You remove two prediction cards and a Joker from a deck of cards, and the spectators choose EXACTLY where in the pack all three cards go. They manage to place the first two predictions next to the MATCHING cards! But what card have they placed the Joker next to?

You explain that the Joker is a 'Wild Card' and so could be paired up with ANY card... and so the spectators shout out the name of the first random card that comes to mind... which you explain will be the face down card next to the Joker!

However, it turns out to be a gag, as the card is turned over to reveal a full pack of cards, printed tiny, all over its face!

But then there's the kicker...

'Do you know where all the faces came from? The rest of the pack!'

The deck is turned face up, and ribbon spread, to reveal EVERY. SINGLE. CARD. IS. BLANK!

Everything you need to perform this masterpiece is included in the package.

Overview

I personally like to carry as little as possible to perform. I would rather carry an ordinary deck of cards and perform with those than to carry anything extra. However, we all know that once in a while there is a need for something extraordinary and if you don’t mind carrying a deck of cards to perform one trick then The Big Kick by Liam Montier and Big Blind Media is not only entertaining but baffling as well.

Effect

The performer fans out a deck of cards face down and says he will make two predictions. Picking the cards up and scanning the deck he selects two cards as his prediction cards sets them face up on the table and also places the joker face up off to the side. Systematically, he starts to deal cards face down below the two predictions. The spectator is instructed to say stop whenever they feel the time is right and they do. Feeling so good about the outcome, the performer takes the joker and asks the spectator to say stop once more as he deals cards down below it once again. The first pair is turned over and they are complimenting cards for example a Jack of Clubs and a Jack of Spades. The second pair is turned over and it is a match again. Finally, the cards below the Joker is turned over and it is the old gag 52 on 1 card. However even though the last revelation was a gag the spectator did a great job because all the other cards left in the deck were blank.

Method

Although the deck is a setup deck, the handling and subtleties totally obfuscate the method. The method utilizes the Gemini Twins principle popularized by Annemann and Fulves. That, coupled with subtleties by Lovell, Duffy and Barron, The Big Kick becomes very deceptive. I’m sure even with magicians familiar with some of these principles will have a hard time re-engineering this one.

Product Quality

The deck provided is a Bicycle deck so there are no quality issues there. The video instructions are 13 minutes long but includes the trailer which is 4 minutes so the effective training video is 9 minutes total. Liam Montier runs through the process fairly quickly with no extraneous talk. Since there are no moves the video is easy to follow.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy says it all. The trailer of the performance is exactly how it goes with no embellishment or exaggeration.
