Have fun with this Gustavo's new effect.

You could pierce an Oreo with any kind of object such as a ribbon, sharpie, hankerchief, a straw, etc. After that, show it completely restored and eat it.

Gimmick and instructional video included.

Overview

WHAT YOU GET

You get a very well made gimmick, a nice cloth ribbon and instruction link. The instructions are around 4 ½ minutes long.

WHAT IS COOL

It is WAY cool that this is such an organic prop.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY

I really loved the instruction and handling. The instructions are only 4 ½ minutes long, so obviously, they don’t go into a lot of detail. They do, however, show you how to perform this with both the ribbon provided or a sharpie that is not included. I will say that this can be a bit angle sensitive and if you have very small hands, his handling would be even more angle sensitive.

I think magicians of all levels might enjoy this, but the fact that the video is SO short, magicians of intermediate skills or better are more likely to appreciate the “no frills” instructions. I personally found them to be very clear and very easy to follow.

This does employ sleights that you will need to practice.

AT A GLANCE

Skill level required: 3 of 5.
Audience management skill required: 4 of 5.
Performance angles: 90 degrees. It may be possible to perform surrounded, but I’m going to say 90 degrees to encompass people of different skills and different hand sizes. If you have small hands, you will likely need to be more careful of your angles.
Reset time required: You can reset in front of your audience.
DIY time involved in advance: None.

VERDICT

I REALLY like this! I like it not only for the effects taught on the video, but the additional suggestions below.

Effect

You pull a ribbon through an oreo and then show the unharmed oreo and either eat it, or hand it out for examination.

Method

The method is very good. It employs a commonly used gimmick in coin magic. I think magicians will come up with additional uses for this gimmick. I have outlined what I plan on doing with this gimmick in the suggestions section.

Product Quality

Very good. The gimmick looks like it was made on a 3D printer, appears to be good quality. It is made of plastic and it could be broken if not handled with reasonable care, but it looks reasonably durable.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is completely accurate. It is brief and to the point. It doesn't make any outlandish claims. In fact, there is SO MUCH more that you could do with this gimmick than what is advertised.

Final Thoughts

This is Awesome! See my suggestion section for a completely different use for this gimmick!

Suggestions

Without giving away the method, the method is related to a coin gimmick. Therefore, you could use this to do “coin” tricks with oreo cookies. That is how I plan on using this. This gimmick will facilitate an “oreos across” routine that could be awesome!

You may also want to try substituting the ribbon provided with a silk that when pulled through will expand more and provide more cover.
