Words About Wizards

Parrish, Bob

Meyerbooks

(Based on 1 review)
Robert Parrish's Words About Wizards is a slim volume of recollections about magicians Parrish knew or encountered between 1930 and 1950 . Don't let the size of this book fool you. In its 72 pages, Words About Wizards really brings to life such magicians as Blackstone, Okito, Charlie Miller, and Paul Rosini. A lovely and literate book, reading it is like viewing a collection of beautiful portraits.

Hokey Smokes! Did I mention that this is my all time favorite magic book and that Robert Parrish is one of my all time favorite magic writers AND that David Meyer is becoming one of my all time favorite magic publishers?

If you are interested in charmingly written anecdotes about some of magic's well known and not so well known personalities then this book is a must for your collection.

Harlan Tarbell, Charlie Miller, Rufus Steele...Who is Rufus Steele you ask? Well, buy the book and find out! All of these characters come to life at the stroke of Parrish's pen.

I love this book! It is one that I have read over and over again. It is hardbound and beautifully printed. Words About Wizards is a great addition for the collector or serious student of magicians. My only gripe is that it is much, much too short!

While you are at it check out some of Meyer Books other magic titles. You will not be disappointed.
