Overview

The Main Event: Knockout Card Magic by Caleb Wiles is just that, a 2 DVD set of incredible card magic for the intermediate card magician. This 2 DVD set has some of the most incredible card magic well within the capabilities of your average card enthusiast.

Effect

Knockout Card Magic comprises of sixteen high impact card tricks with interesting premises and modern presentations. Caleb Wiles presents and explains his very best card magic and if one will dedicate themselves to learning and practicing the sixteen tricks on these DVDs you can go anywhere and entertain.

Method

The tricks primarily use an ordinary deck. There are some prepared cards such as letters and drawings on them, some gimmicked cards, set up decks and a bit of sleight of hand. The sleight of hand would be in the realm of an intermediate card magician. There is frequent use of double lifts, finger breaks and turnover moves but that should not deter you from giving this 2 DVD set a look. Most of the tricks cannot follow one another being there is usually preparation involved for each trick.

Product Quality

The performance and presentations are all well done. Every trick is performed and then thoroughly explained as well as optional endings for some. The 2 DVD set runs four hours and in that time all 16 tricks are explained and all sleights are covered as well. The pace is adequate, not too fast but not too slow.

Ad Copy Integrity

The majority of the ad copy is the list of tricks but everything else is completely accurate. The tricks performed with minimal sleight of hand is quite impressive. You will not be able to perform these immediately. Caleb’s style is fast paced, and his presentations follow suit. His scripting is thorough, well written and moves along briskly.
