In July 2009, Jordan Gomez represented France with his CD manipulation act at the World Championship of Magic in Beijing (China). He finished in the top 5 best performers at only 17 years old. From that event, his CD act has been performed in over 30 countries worldwide. His magic also appeared on the major mass media broadcasters such as BBC, CCTV, M6, RAI 1 etc.
Wow! Stunning! This is more than magic, it is incredible, magical art.
The instruction was concise, clear, and clever. The moves are shown quickly and explained quickly. I think the camera angles were very good to both see the effect from the audience’s perspective, and then immediately see it from the best possible angle to learn. You will need to pause, rewind and rewatch to learn this stuff. I really liked the instruction, but some may feel it was rushed. I really liked it because it was presented very clear, and as you are learning, you will want to go through this DVD several times to get the moves down and as you progress in your training, you will likely be grateful for how he structured the DVD.

CD Magic 1 is a DVD that teaches you how to manipulate CD’s for a stage show. It is stage manipulation act which instead of using playing cards, you learn how to do a similar act with compact discs or DVD’s. It is a very rare performance art and if you are a performer that wants to manipulate CD’s and make them appear, disappear and multiply, this is a good place to start.
The creator, Jordan Gomez, speaks only French on the DVD. When he speaks, which is infrequently, there are English subtitles. Most of the DVD is set to music and shows Gomez either demonstrating his moves or explaining how to do them by showing exposed views of the moves.
The production is good and it is easy to follow along with, but he moves rather quickly. In that regard, and because there is virtually no spoken instruction, it is hard to keep up with Gomez. He does teach a substantial number of moves on the DVD which he packs into a 20 minute DVD by moving very quickly.
