I am a huge fan of the Chinese Linking Rings - it is the one single effect that is completely responsible for sparking my interest in magic. It remains, to this day, my favorite effect in all of magic - as much as I love others, I love this the most.

Up until recently, there has been a lack of updated resources and materials on this effect. Yes, there have been many great routines and instructional versions published (the Vernon 6-Ring routine from his Harlequin act, the Chris Capehart and Richard Ross routines, Tarbell, Greater Magic, Rings In Your Fingers by Dariel Fitzkee, etc.) but it has been a while. If you are currently performing or thinking about learning the Chinese Linking Rings, this is a MUST-HAVE set! That is, on top of the books you should already have in your library.

The video and audio quality of this set are again, as with all other Levent products, second-to-none, very crisp and clear. The menu is easy to navigate on each disc and inside the DVD case you will find a complete chapter AND contents list for all four discs, which is essentially a printout of the menus on the DVDs.

Levent leaves nothing to chance here and he begins with the history of the rings, he talks about the various weights, sizes and thicknesses of the rings, the variation of the number of rings in each set, the various types of keys, specialty rings, etc. The contents of each disc are mind boggling and just way too numerous to list here. A complete list is given on the his website under the product section. Bear in mind that in print, the list may look short but the total running time of these discs is OVER SEVEN (7) HOURS LONG! Wow!

He teaches you everything from the basic linking and un-inking sequences all the way up to full and complete routines, including his own 11-ring routine, the Vernon routine and the Chung Ling Soo routines (and in character, too!).

Levent also shows you how to make various holders and hold-outs for different purposes in ring routines - a very interesting look inside the way his mind works. Levent possesses a very special way of teaching that makes everything fun to learn, and he makes you want to learn more.

I cannot say enough good about this DVD set. One of the best books ever put out on the linking rings was the (though long out-of-date, still VERY useful) book, "Rings In Your Fingers" by Dariel Fitzkee. In its day, it was quite a good and mostly complete compilation. The next book that fit that bill was the book from Pete Biro called "The Real Secrets of the Chinese Linking Rings" and along with those books (among the many others), this 4-disc set from Levent belongs on the video shelf of every serious linking ring performer/enthusiast/historian!

Very highly recommended!
