Overview

You are provided with an envelope and 4 cards of which one is blank. There is no slight of hand involved, no angle issues, no funny moves, nothing to add or take away and no arts and crafts needed. The spectator can really name any Queen, there is no force, no equivoque, just pure magic. Easy to learn and do, great for beginners to pros.

Effect

The Magician hold up a card box or an envelope and inside the Magician says there are four Queens. The spectator names any Queen and is now asked to imagine that their Queen is vanishing, is it floating off into ether, turning to nothingness leaving a blank canvas of oblivion. The envelope is open and there are three Queens inside however the selected Queen is missing only a card blank on both sides is left. Additionally if you want, the blank card can be customized with the spectators name on it predicting the specific Queen that they named would be missing.

Method

You are provided with an envelope and 4 cards of which one is blank. There is no slight of hand involved, no angle issues, no funny moves, nothing to add or take away and no arts and crafts needed. Add some showmanship, a great patter and you are ready to amaze everyone. Put the cards back in the envelope and this effect can now be repeated to another audience with a different named Queen. The spectator can really name any Queen, there is no force, no equivoque, just pure magic.

Product Quality

You are provided with a normal ungimmicked card sized envelope which will last for many performance. When it wears out or if is rips due to overuse, a regular plain bank envelope can be used or get refills from your local Walmart, Staples, etc. The playing cards are printed on quality stock and will last a very long time as they are only being spread not shuffled. You will also receive 12 pages of easy to follow instructions printed on 8.5” X 11” paper.

Ad Copy Integrity

The add says - "Demonic method, Self-contained, Automatic, Instant reset, Angle proof, No forcing, No Equivoque, No rough & smooth or double-cards, Multiple routines, magic & mentalism” and it is all accurate and true. You actually get what you paid for. There is no online or downloadable video available but you will not need it.

Final Thoughts

If you do not want to use this effect as a packet trick utilizing an envelope, you can just carry the four cards in a card box ready to perform anytime, anywhere. You can just perform the basic effect but you will also be taught a few other variations utilizing a full deck of cards including - a prediction using three audience members, placing all the Queen’s and the deck in the card case and the chosen one vanishes, utilizing a Himber Wallet and more. You really get a lot for your money and highly recommend this, it has already become my favorite packet trick.

Bob Farmer's ALICE'S REVENGE is a straightforward packet trick. You show a small envelope or card case. You place it in front of the participant. They name any queen. You remove four cards and the named queen is the only one not in the envelope, a blank card is seen in its place.

This simple effect is fine but I don't think it will be replacing B'WAVE for me anytime soon. I will admit it does have one advantage (if one cares about this sort of thing). It allows you to have the participant choose any queen. There is no Equivoque. However, there are some disadvantages. The blank card can be handed out for examination, but the other three queens cannot. I can't imagine what one would say or do in that circumstance. Since you'll want to reset right away, you'll have to keep the queens in your hand until you get the blank card back to reset.

It is suggested that one could have their contact information on the blank card, leaving it with the participant as the other three queens are quickly put away. I see that being the best way to do this.

What I love about B'WAVE that this routine doesn't offer, is precisely that it allows you to use Equivoque, it allows you to seemingly show all four cards and innocently place them on the table or the participants hand. And the surprise of showing three blank cards, in my opinion, is far more pleasing than showing one blank card.

So, again, ALICE'S REVENGE is a great alternative if using Equivoque scares you off, but otherwise, it's a weaker effect.
