Seek 52 is an unpretentious disc of card material taught by a likable and competent cardician. If you're a card worker too, I think you'll really enjoy it.

The production isn't overly fancy, and it could benefit from better audio quality at times, but it does use appropriate picture-in-picture insets to provide close-ups, when appropriate. Otherwise, it has the feel of sitting in on a card session between friends. This is definitely not an L&L-style presentation or production.

Steve Reynolds is a good and knowledgeable teacher, and his onscreen partners fill in points that he misses. Additionally, and admirably, considerable effort has been put into providing not just credits, but useful references (book names and page numbers!) for the attentive student. For that alone, this disc gets an extra star in its rating.

Additionally, there's a "tools" section that teaches some of the intermediate techniques that you might not be familiar with. This is a both useful and thoughtful, as it shortens many of the methodological discussions of the tricks themselves. Like the crediting, this is an approach I'd like to see other discs adopt.
