On the first DVD, Dean goes through the general meanings of both the minor and major arcana of the tarot deck. He explains the meanings of the four suits, the meanings of the numerology, the connection with astrology, and the meanings of the major arcana. As he explains the meanings, easy-to-follow graphics are shown to help guide the viewer in his or her understanding of the deck.
On the second DVD, he goes over various tarot spreads, how to make up your own spread, how to start giving readings (whether you are a believer or not), and the ethics when giving readings. Dean has been reading tarot since he was four years old, and he started out as a shut-eye. He thinks tarot can be useful and entertaining, and he explains that it is more about relationships and what people want to get out of it that is most important. He does say to be careful if you are getting paid to do readings because many people take it very seriously. He also mentions that he doesn't believe that people should mix tarot readings and magic. He advises to stay away from the following topics: legal, medical, financial, and psychological issues.
Also on the second DVD is a PDF file that includes the book, "Tarot with 'Tude," a 148 page manuscript written in 2004 that goes over much of the same explanations found on the DVD. Since Leaping Lizards Magic is no longer in business, there won't be any updates, expansions, or hand-outs in your future. That being said, this 2-volume DVD set is worth a look if you aren't familiar with tarot, but you would like to learn more about it.
The ad integrity is mostly accurate. The only thing that isn't accurate is about the updates. The publisher of these DVDs is no longer in business.
