Magician Magazine HOUDINI Issue

Black's Magic Group

(Based on 1 review)
Learn. Conjure. Mystify.

Welcome to MAGICIAN!

"There's a lot to say about the wonderful art of magic, and we hope to contribute by providing you with a quality magazine that brings new life into our world. Just as Street Magic was something that hadn't been seen before, we hope that MAGICIAN can take that process even further by offering you new writers, new effects, and new knowledge.

Not that "New" is always a necessary thing. We will also be revisiting old places, as well, by paying respect to the intense and rich history that magic has. From dust-bowl carnival years to Victorian drawing rooms all the way to current New York streets, we want to bring you to places where magic began and continues to be.

But first, some magic...

The inaugural issue is one the that is simply full of tricks and effects to get you started. After all, what kind of magicians would we be if we didn't have anything to demonstrate? And in this issue, you will find some of the greatest minds in the business offering you everything from chicken wing magic (no kidding) to some amazing card effects. And, best yet, these are all things that you can, and hopefully will, go out and perform. And, that brings us to something that has a special place in my heart...

The performance. As primarily a performer, I realize how important it is not just learn technique but how crucial it is to learn how to apply those techniques to real world situations. And that's what I hope to bring to you with this magazine. Our motto of, "Learn. Conjure. Mystify." Is exactly what we want you to do and I hope to contribute with the "mystify" part. Whether it's a Magic Friday or a piece on The Approach, I believe, that through this magazine, we can all teach and help each other to becoming the greatest magicians the world has ever seen. Let's do it together." - Jamie Grant, Editor-At-Large

The review on this is simple. There is a lot of free magic in this magazine. Everything from beginning stuff to stuff from John Archer, Banachek, Danny Archer, Michael Ammar, Harry Lorayne and more...

The magazine looks and feels just like "Street Magic" Magazine, and it should... it's the same guy producing both, so I'm not sure the distinction. It wasn't clear. Also, I can't quite figure out the exact story with this magazine. I could not find anywhere on the magazine a date or an issue number, so I thought that maybe it was just a one-off publication, but throughout the magazine "they" talk like it's a recurring thing, yet this issue appears to be the first.

Confusion aside, however, there is a lot of great stuff in here. For a mere $8.95, stop thinking about it and pick it up.

Lost one point for the confusion factor and the, in my opinion, offensive advertisement in the back of the magazine.
