The Effect:

Overview

The Smart Phone is so commonplace in the world it seems everyone has one. What is amazing is that when you see videos of some of the most impoverished parts of the world, they all have cell phones. It’s not unfathomable then, that the phone has been pressed into service to perform magic. Apps have been developed for magic for quite a while now but VOX by David Jonathan is a non-App phone trick which utilizes the build in conveniences that an IOS phone has.

Effect

The performer approaches a group of people and he relates how Siri has become the most famous magician (or mentalist) in the world. He goes on to prove his point by placing a deck of cards on the table and asks Siri to name a card and she does. The spectators are then allowed to cut the deck as many times as they wish. When they are done, Siri is asked to name a number and she does. The cards are then counted down to that number and it is the card that was mentioned prior. A Siri based ACCAN.

Method

The method utilizes the attributes of the I-phone and a deck set up prior in the Mneumonica stack. By downloading various shortcuts the performer can covertly send the information to Siri and she can the determine each card at each location. What is natural about VOX is that there are no odd websites to search and there are no red flags popping up as in some of the magic Apps out there.

Product Quality

What you get are the shortcuts already designed to perform their task and multiple videos on how to install, use and perform VOX. The project definitely is well done and offers a great deal for a nominal investment. More than two hours of clear and easy paced instructions are provided as well as access to a Facebook group.
