This incredible update to the classic color vision box is a multi-phase jaw-dropper with a simple prop that you can perform anytime, anywhere.

A simple toy die with colored spots on each side is placed inside a box by the spectator and you can name the color every time! Each phase becomes more impossible, as you continue to divine the color out of the clear blue sky without touching the box! You can even name the color when the spectator has placed the die into the box behind their back and closed it without anyone watching!

Overview

We live in a wonderful time for magic. Technology truly has made the impossible actually possible. Electronics alone has influenced magic in ways no other advancement has. Besides electronics, new technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters and other desk top type equipment has allowed thousands of others to create magic in their home expanding the pool of ideas. As for those that are traditionalists, even old tricks that have been relegated to the junk drawer are being given new life as they are taken out and turned over and over again until exciting and updated presentations are fleshed out. 4K Color Vision by The Magic Firm is one of those oldies which have had new life breathed into it.

Effect

A square plastic container with a cover is brought out and shown to the spectator(s). Inside the container is an eight sided die with eight different colors on it. The cube and die are all shown to be completely un-gimmicked. The spectator chooses a color and places the die with that color up and puts the cover on it as the performers back is turned. Without hesitation the performer reveals the color chosen by the spectator. This is done three more times in ways that defy logic. All that the spectators can surmise is that mind-reading just may be possible.

Method

The method initially starts off as a standard Color Vision Cube. Those that are familiar with it will know that there is a method to divine the thought of color. This is done twice through some clever presentation. Where 4K Color Vision deviates from a standard Color Vision Cube is that for the next two phases, the color the spectator chooses can be forced by the performer. The method is so clever and insightful I will not divulge any more, just go and get the trick, it is well worth it.

Product Quality

The container and die is plastic as most of these items are typically. This is not a fancy wooden model and does look like a cheap magic trick which aids in the deception. The video instruction is 30 minutes long and is very well done. The psychology of the trick, the handling and tips and techniques are all covered. The size of the container is small enough to facilitate the moves without it being difficult or obvious. A lot of thought went into the design and scripting of this effect.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy says it all. As far as a Color Vision Cube, this version is one of the best I’ve seen. What Magic Firm has done was to take a trick which tended to appear more like a puzzle and make it and actual performance piece.
