Finders Keepers

Mahdi Gilbert is known for his beautiful thinking, and his inventive card work. With Finders Keepers he applies a fresh twist on a classic coin effect. In Finders Keepers the magician borrows a handful of change from a spectator. While the magician’s back is turned the spectator selects a coin and then mixes it back into the the rest of the change. Without any fishing or equivoke the magician is able to correctly identify the coin. The best part is there are no secret marks or gimmicks. All of the coins are actually borrowed. Finders Keepers is an impromptu miracle! Finders Keepers is easy to do, and Mahdi teaches not only how to do this effect, but also tips some great presentational hooks and motivations so that you too can get huge reactions. Once you find out the secret you’ll know this trick is a keeper.

WOW … this is a real fooler! When you watch most promo trick videos, many times you have a rough idea of how it is done or at least an inkling but Mahid literally blew me away and I’m sure you too! It is based on a very simple ‘secret' process that you probably already know if you have been into magic for a while but forgot that you actually knew it. The principle is very basic and you will kick yourself when you learn the secret - it is awesome.

There are no sleights involved, no marks put on the coin, no gimmicks, just a really great impromptu trick. Don’t want to do another card trick, no problem, someone will usually have some coins on them. You don’t have to mix the coins in a card box (if you just performed some card magic), use a cup or any other type of receptacle you can find around. Use your coins or for a better impact, use the spectators coins it doesn’t matter. If you use 2 spectators like in the promo, one of them does most of the work so when you reveal the first spectators choice, it is really a magical moment.

The tutorial is just over 34 minutes and Mahdi also gets into such things as audience management, various strategies to increase the performance value of the trick and few different variations. You may ‘get it’ early in the tutorial and find it long but Mahdi leaves nothing out. This is definitely a very nice simple trick with a huge impact, it will be one of your keepers and fun to do.
