You might ask, why another Card Guard? The purpose of a card guard is to keep a deck of cards from warping. Most will not perform this task effectively, certainly not the soft metal pewter guards.
Joe has machined what is considered the finest Card Guard made today. It is engineered to do what it is supposed to do. This is a professional's choice GUARANTEED!
When you snap you cards into this Card Guard you know that they will stay fresh and crisp and flat under all conditions.
Porper's Deluxe Card Guard is the unanimous favorite among all professional card men.

As far as card guards go I think you would be hard pressed to find one that matches the Porper Card Clip. This is a high quality chunk of metal that will do a good job in protecting your cards.
It protects your box while it is in your pocket so that when ever you pull it out it doesn't look crumpled or crushed. Because of this added layer of protection and constant pressure from either side the cards do last longer for sure. Probably my favorite part is just how professional it looks when you pull out a deck with a custom cover.
Of course if you do use it day to day you may lose some utility if you have gimmicked your box at all. With modifications though you can use your box fairly easily during your set. While for the most part the card clip protects the box you may find that it scratches the box as it is used day after day. Also, while the cards will not bow nearly as much depending on the climate of where you live there still may be some slight bowing.
I feel like for the money this is a great deal and may make it up to you when you consider how many decks it will save you from buying.
