LOST TREASURE is a VERY EASY and visual magic trick to learn and perform.

EFFECT:

In this version, You display a coin pedestal. on the pedestal is a coin (use your own coin, any currency)
You tell the story of a treasure hunter that found a rare and special coin on a pedestal in an ancient cave. He takes the coin and places it in his pocket and runs out of the cave. When he reaches the outside the coin in his pocket is shown to have VANISHED and is found BACK ON THE PEDESTAL! A VERY fun and easy trick to perform and learn!

Love the concept, hate the materials. This is a great giveaway, but I would never "professionally" use it. Sadly, "The Lost Treasure" is cheaply made. It reminds me of the novelty tricks I used to order from a comic book when I was a kid. If you've ever been inside a joke / magic shop, "The Treasure" would be with the other cheap-o effects made by Adam's. The illusion, on the other hand, is remarkable. Yes, it really is quite good, but the cheap plastic cups are just that ... cheap, plastic cups. Additionally, the effect is inconsistent. Sometimes the illusion works, but sometimes it sticks and "voila" nothing happens! Crikey! My other complaint, (yes, I have many, but I'm a Virgo, so get over it) is that the effect talks. Sure, it is usually only a whisper, but talk is talk and if I can hear it, so can my close-up guest. (Once again, even the talking is a direct result from using cheap materials).
Again, I love the illusion and the possibilities, but I would only perform it on a video. If only it were a lot cheaper - it would make a great giveaway at kids shows.

Overview

This is a great beginner magician trick. A very young magician will enjoy performing this trick to their friends. Unlike many of the other products in the Apprentice line of tricks from Murphy's Magic, I believe this is strictly for kids to perform.

The Apprentice line of tricks has many classics that are either performed by magicians today or that have come in cheap magic kits when we were kids. These tricks are not cheapo product like we are all remember.

Effect

Basically, a coin is placed on a small red plastic stand and covered by another plastic gimmick and then the coin either disappears, appears or changes into another coin when the covering plastic pedestal is removed.

Method

The method is a simple gimmick and some custom made pedestals that enable the magic to happen. Its so easy to perform and really not detecable.

Product Quality

The quality is good for $8.95. It is better than the quality of tricks that came in magic kits that we all remember. This is not my favorite in the series of Apprentice tricks.

Overview

You may not get rich performing The Lost Treasure by Apprentice Magic but you’ll definitely be able to fool your friends (and maybe some magicians as well). The Lost Treasure by Apprentice Magic is another of one of their releases geared for the beginning magician. All the tricks in this series are simple, classic magic tricks that many experienced magicians have long been acquainted with. Once manufactured in brass and exotic woods, these classics are more seen nowadays in the plastic versions like the one offered here. Despite the materials the trick is made of, the effect is the same. And the effect relies more on the presentation than the object, and that’s where the magic lies.

Effect

The performer takes out a small pedestal on which he places a rare coin. He tells a story of how once the coin was lost and recreates that by removing the coin and places the coin in his pocket. He then takes another pedestal similar to the one that held the coin and places it over the empty pedestal. Amazingly, with a bit of magic, the lost coin reappears when the second pedestal is lifted up.

Method

Naturally the prop does all the work for you, which leaves you nothing but to focus on the delivery. Unless you know the secret behind the method, it is extremely hard to re-engineer. Don’t be fooled by the low cost of this product, it works just as good as the ones made out of more expensive materials.

Product Quality

The props are made of plastic but that shouldn’t deter someone from giving this a go. The “trick” is the ability to weave a good tale. In other cheap versions of this trick you would probably get typed instructions on a miniscule piece of paper that you may be able to understand. With The Lost Treasure, you will not only get the props but a downloadable video instruction featuring Javier Fuenmayor, Murphy’s Magic new spokesperson. Javier brings this trick to a new level. Ever excited and well spoken, Javier teaches you the routine and a premise to hang it on. Filmed on a beautiful set in High Definition, Javier brings what is needed most in magic; enthusiasm. This is well worth the purchase just to watch Javier.

The product delivers all that is posted. Apprentice Magic has the right idea which is bringing back tired and worn out classics and revitalizing them and breathing new life in to this old friends.
