My Best Self-Working Card Tricks is a Karl Fulves paperback with 64 tricks. The tricks are taught in groups such as Personality Tests, Impromptu Tricks, Klondyke Shuffle, Interactive Poker, Red-Black Tricks, Marked For Mystery, Mind Reading, Novelty Tricks, The Deck is Stacked, Red-Backed Blues, Roll the Dice, X-Ray Vision and Card to Wallet.Take note that this book is not a compendium of Fulves originals, but a collection of tricks from other magicians, sometimes with his tweaks and some of his own tricks.
There are some real good tricks in this book, but also many that I just would never do.
Effect
The effects are quite diverse as there are 64 tricks that use a deck of cards. I can't go through all 64 effects, but there are many different type of tricks.Some of the effects taught I have know from tricks that John Bannon has put out. Seeing great Bannon-like effects has made me realize that you need to read and digest and think about each trick carefully so you can bring it to life.
Method
And as there are dozens off tricks, there are dozens of methods. Although many tricks feel too formulaic for me, I was able to find a few that I have endeavored to recall and use. The problem when you read a book like this is that you need to read it slowly over time otherwise the tricks all seem to blend into one another and you can lose your mojo - and perhaps skip a good trick that you may want to perform.Product Quality
