A brilliant and hilarious effect guaranteed to bring a smile to their faces, this is surely now a classic of Magic, ideal for just about any magical entertainer. A rod is shown with two cords running freely through either end. One cord is long and the other short. At the end of each cord a pom pom is attached - each a different colour. During a very comical routine you repeatedly pull on a 'short' pom pom and a 'long' pom pom goes up! This happens over and over again bringing an increasingly broad smile to their faces. Eventually they collapse in laughter as you pull the rod apart to clearly show there can be no internal connection! ! Putting it back together, the 'confusion' starts all over again, building up to a great 'gag' climax, which automatically cues their applause. Invented by Louis Histed and popularized by Ali Bongo, The Pom Pom Prayer Stick is quite simply priceless for entertainment value and ease of use.

The Pom Pom Prayer Stick can be a great routine for childrens parties. I present it as a new toy I've invented that doesn't do anything. It allows for lots of mugging and sound making. Dangerous as it seems I also have two small children up to help me. It has become pretty much of a classic so some care must be taken that it is not overused (Remember 6 card repeat?) It is a little pricey but if you perform for money, even occasionally - it is a prop worth the price. My only objection is the dumbing down of the English language. Properly this is a POM PON stck Not POM POM. A pom pn is those fuzzy things on the ends of the strings or shaky things for cheerleaders. A pom pom is actually an anti-aircraft cannon.
