I recently taught a beginning magic course in my town. As a prize at the end of the course, I gave away this book to one of the students who has a bright future in magic. This is the definitive beginner book. You learn card tricks and sleights, shuffles and forces. You also learn rope tricks, cups and balls, stage illusions, and mentalism. This is the perfect gift for anyone just starting magic, and it provides plenty of creative ideas for experienced magicians as well.

How can anyone who wants to be a magician( or a better one) NOT have this book on their bookshelf. It covers practically ever facet of magic in some way shape or form. From simple self-working card magic all the way up to stage illusions. The play by play instructions are excellent and are often illustrated twice : once from the performers view and then again from the audience view. The course teaches the basic sleights for both cards and coins fairly well . The Cups and ball routine is a complete classic along with the billiard ball and sponge ball act. You can't go wrong with any of the effects in the book . Overall it is truly a great tool.

Origanally this book was only available through Mark Wilson himself now he has sold out and seems to be available everywhere.
It's a great book if you wanting to start in magic seriously.
This book I believe was the first book to expose the super X illusion.
This is a beautifully written book and the illustrations awonderful as they are taken from actual photographs. The book indeed covers almost every subject from Cards to illusions.
This book is not designed for absolute beginners but the real enthusiast.
