I knew, even before I got my copy of this text, that I would be writing a review of it here. Thing is, there is so much beautiful richness about and within this text, that I don't want to do too much of the usual reviewer thing and say 'get this-here's why'-or, the opposite. I truly don't want to spoil anyone's potential satisfaction by writing a detailed, analytical review of this master work-by exposing too much of the contents. Even if I wrote many positive words, which I'm SO tempted to do-it won't guarantee that you'll seek and find this book. I'll say this: there is NO way, that any magician (in my opinion) could be sorry, to have this book in his or her hands, or collection. It's rare, may require a search, but it's more than worth it. This is a book to DISCOVER. Accessible yet powerful routines with coins; subtle, understated, purely magical effects; detailed diagrams and photos; many ancient, evocative visuals that didn't have to be there but are (gorgeous); psychological insights, some words about breathing as misdirection; many fine details justifying all facets of the routines-and many 'arrows' pointing towards other art forms, (like mime), that have valuable lessons for the magician. Jules DeBarros shares his resources, and clearly reveals why it is important to be a student of all art forms-as any of them may hold principals relevant to conjuring. An extremely thought provoking work. Stars: (Platinum, skip gold) Count them: 1,2,3,4,5. One 69 page book, (circa1971-forward by Marlo-parting words by Racherbaumer), that can open so many doors, beyond 'tricks with coins'. Get it, read it, spend some time with it and you'll see why I am not bothering to even try to sum it all up. It's that RICH...(plus, I don't want to put anyone off here with a really long review). The only thing negative I can say, is that it's hard finding more works by Mr. Debarros-but I'm searching...
