The Freedom Writer is an excellent mentalism tool that is clever step in product evolution, for those that use a swami or other boon. It is a great improvement on other writers for the reason discussed below.
Freedom Writer comes with a black plastic carrying case, a small stack of blank business sized cards, the gimmick, several envelopes, some material to create some gimmicks and another smaller metal case. It is taught by Matthew Johnson and Bro Gilbert in a downloadable video, which is almost an hour long . The quality of the video is excellent and it is easy to follow. The routines presented (and there are a few) are excellent and you will no doubt knock out your close-up spectators with this one.
Using this tool, although not difficult, will require a small amount of practice to get you to a place where you have total fluency. The great part about this is that you start completely clean and end completely clean. Although proponents of the predecessor writers will argue that the writers are invisible to the spectator, you are not in fact clean. Just like the other writers, there are some angles you will need to protect during performance.
The quality of the materials is excellent and you have everything you need to get started right out of the box. There is no construction required.
With the carrying case, you can carry this in your pocket and be ready to go with no need to attach anything to your fingers or hand. This benefit, in my opinion, makes this a must have.
