REVIEW
If you like the effect, you are really going to like the method. It is practical and effective.
He teaches a couple different routines using the gimmick.
The gimmick could be a great addition to your ambitious card routine.
The DVD also has a template for a really cool looking “mechanics” card with gears and pistons and such. You can glue this to your gimmick card for a different plot or you can use it and a regular indifferent playing card and make your own gimmick.
Because the gimmick doesn’t have to be hidden in the deck and can be brought out in plain sight during the performance, this lends itself well to close-up or parlor work. Not so good for stage.
CAUTION
Many people, myself included, are not too keen on using gimmick cards. What I like about this gimmick is it does not need to be hidden in the deck. You keep it separate, say in your front pocket, and you take it out and use it. You could take it out with the gimmicked side facing the spectator, using your fingers to hide the secret. You could then turn the card over and the impression is they saw both sides of what just looks like a regular card with a window cut out.
VERDICT
Nice gimmick, good instruction.
