Overview

1 Box, 1 exciting adventure, $35 bucks, and one Box One magic(?) review. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

Effect

Well . . . it's not a magic trick. It's . . . well . . . read the ad copy . . . it's that.

Method

See effect.

Product Quality

Even this is a little tricky to talk about without revealing things. I'll just say that everything, and I mean everything in the box (and all the places it leads you) is extremely well thought out, clever, and genuine evidence that Neal Patrick Harris is a real-life bona-fide genius. The "stuff" in the box is well-made and genuinely a joy to behold. With each new discovery I was truly floored and blown away by the creativity and genius of what I was in the presence of.

If there is a tiny little negative, it's this. The game can only be played once. In other words, once I'm done, giving it to someone else to play is useless. Once the game is completed, a little something special is discovered and it's unique to whoever cracks the "code". If someone else cracks it, they'll also discover this special something, but they won't be able to use it. However, this only means they won't end up on wall of fame (more about this in the ad copy integrity section below).

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy and ad trailer both make the claim that it's a rare kind of "board game" . . . a game for 1 player. It also suggests that if you like puzzles, escape rooms, etc. that you'll love this game. FACTS! This is one of the coolest things I've come across in a long time. Watch the trailer. Read the ad copy. It's 100% dead on.

The only caveat I'll throw in there is that if you wanted to "play" the "game" with partners you certainly could. It might even be useful to do so. Personally I did it by myself to experience as it was intended. The only "catch" to using partners is that when you finally crack the code, you end up on a wall of fame of sorts, and only one of you gets the "credit."

Final Thoughts

One night, I decided to open up the box and see what it was all about. When I did, I was immediately sucked right into it. Every few minutes, as I followed the instructions, a new surprise would appear . . . and then another . . . and then another . . . This continued right to the very end. Every single surprise was brilliant, clever, astonishing, fun, exciting, and made me all giddy with excitement. Really. It's that good.

If you're looking for a fun way to escape reality and have some alone time for a few hours, or you want a fun group activity where you work together to solve a fun puzzle / mystery / escape room, you will absolutely love this!
Final Verdict:
5 Stars with a Stone Status of GEM!
