With Thought Wave Gary and Mark has taken a principle and given it a new lease of life with an incredible mind reading card routine.
You start by writing a prediction (sight unseen) on a business card, Post- it note etc. The card is folded and placed on full view on the table.
A small card which contains 52 different symbols is examined by your spectator who then merely thinks of one of the symbols.
You now write something on another card and once again fold it and place it in full view. At this point you have committed to two predictions without your spectator giving you any information.
You then ask your spectator to draw his symbol on the outside of the first piece of paper. The second prediction is now placed onto the spectators hand and they name aloud the first playing card that comes in to their mind (absolutely no force) they now write their thought of card on your second prediction.
You now draw attention to a deck of cards which has been on the table since the start of the effect. The cards are removed and shown to have images on the back of each one. You remove their freely chosen card and the card with the freely chosen image on its back.
I bet you can see where this is going!! Your spectator now opens your first prediction (the one they have drawn their image on) and it reads the 5 of clubs. When they turn over the card it is in fact the 5 of clubs!! You now state that the second prediction was even harder as the spectator could name any card. When they open prediction number 2 they see you have drawn a clock. They turn over their freely named card only to reveal a clock on the back!!!
This really is a 100% commercial routine that has been well thought out and packs a very big punch!

A very easy but very strong mental effect.
The effect is really just different application of the Phil Deck which is no bad thing. The method is ludicrously simple but oddly quite unknown to laymen and many magicians. This new application takes the jokey, light-hearted phil deck and turns it into something more mental and serious which makes it suitable for the mentalist performer. The video here shows a longish Duality type routine but the whole effect can be streamlined to create a fast and direct effect that might suit a strolling magician.
This is one of the few tricks where the effect really is precisely as the video shows. You will not suffer the all too common anger on opening the box of finding out the video showed you only the best possible outcome, hid the nasty moves or misled you as to the conditions. So if you like the effect you've seen you can be performing it.
It is super easy and very strong.
There are only two downsides to the effect and they are that it cannot be repeated to the same people again and that the deck cannot be handled by the spec, although an individual card can be turned over if you want (it's not a double or sticky card)

Everything in the ad copy is true on this one. Ive done this countless times since receiving it 3 months ago and it always kills. In fact its quickly becoming one of my carry around favorites (and its well worth carrying around). You get a decent DVD that clearly explains what you need to know and even shows a couple different ways to present it. You also get a special symbol card and special deck needed to accomplish the effect. The deck is not a bicycle back deck, and some might not like this fact, but I can say in all honesty....just put the deck in a bicycle box as is recommended, and it won't even matter. My closest friends were baffled by the effect, and didn't even notice the cards weren't bikes until I pointed it out afterwards. This is a VERY strong effect for the price,...and the use of symbols along with a 'psychic' storyline makes this FAR more interesting for your spectator than perhaps other similar style effects. Highly recommended.
