Sleeper Card Rise

Eoin O'Hare

Theory 11

(Based on 2 reviews)
The rising card routine is one of the oldest plots in magic.
A selected card is lost in the deck - it’s shuffled, cut, and placed on the table.
YOU have complete control over when to activate the rise. There’s no timer - it’s simply under your control.
THE RISING CARD TAKEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
Unlike previous methods, SLEEPER is extremely practical and has significant advantages over any other rising card effect, ever. The deck can be shuffled, spread on the table, and held in the spectator’s hands.
No sleight of hand is required, and it’s extremely easy to do. The gimmick does all of the work for you, and it’s completely under your control - it will "sleep” or wait until you want to begin the routine

I'm not sure the previous reviewer really has this product, or has actually even seen it to be honest. His review states that it would be better included in a book on Magic. That would be quite a feat, as it's a beautifully made and exceedingly clever gimmick. Not sure how it would be possible to include in a book. It's certainly not a gimmick that anyone could hand make.

There's a reason it's universally acclaimed by almost everyone. It's a stunning piece of magic. Well worth the asking price. One of the most beautiful effects I've bought in the past five years. Apparently they let anyone review here so I will too. This review of Void is just as mindlessly off base. Don't let someone deter you from buying this. It's delightful, you'll smile the minute you see it.

The gimmick itself is Rube Goldberg clever, but will last for a long time if you take care of it. It's thin enough that you can keep it in the deck and perform a few other card tricks before using it. It's fairly easy to ditch. Reset is easy but not instant, you'll need a few moments. Eoin O'Hares last release was a disappointment. This one more than makes up for it.

Want to waste thirty dollars? Well you could burn it, send it to me -I can always use an extra thirty dollars or you could buy this trick. An Eoin O'Hare trick from Theory 11 has a slew of wonderful rave reviews but is another example of putting out a stand alone trick with gimmick and DVD that would have better been as one of a lot of magic effects in a book of magic. I think it is much too easy to make a professional looking DVD these days. In any case the method is awkward not really an impromptu trick as is sometimes suggested and as far as no sleight-of-hand is concerned, just what part of controlling a card do they not understand? This is a flash in the pan - stay clear
