Linking Rubber Bands

Henry Evans

(Based on 1 review)

Close-up Master Henry Evans strikes again with this clever effect that happens right in the spectator's hand! Several rubber bands are dropped into hand of the spectator. The spectator is instructed to close their hand and in an instant the magician has the spectator open the hand to show that all the bands are now linked in a continous chain...and can be examined!
You will recieve complete instructions and all materials you need to perform this incredible effect.

PROS

The effect is good, but…

CONS

I feel there is little new here.

First, it uses a gimmick that is very similar to the Sanada Gimmick. In fact, it is almost identical, except, IMO, the Sanada gimmick is better.

Second, there is only a small sheet of instruction and it doesn’t cover how to make linking rubber bands as is explained in other rubber band resources.

Third, I just don’t think that the change from a bunch of regular rubber bands to linking rubber bands with a gimmick that, IMO, is a poor imitation of the Sanada gimmick is not tremendously novel.

And a bonus con, on the preview video, he demonstrates some silk magic using his device. However, none of that is explained with this purchase.

Since I'm on a roll, one more point: On the trailer video they say that the "other similar device" (a Sanada gimmick), is not large enough for the linking rubber bands. I tried it and it seems to be sufficiently large enough to work just fine.

I am mentioning the Sanada gimmick in this review because I think it is important to know that this effect uses something very similar and, IMO, the Sanada gimmick is better.

VERDICT

I would pass on this one and get a Sanada gimmick and the DVD put out by Mr Sanada.
