Dissolve Deck

Francis J. Menotti

(Based on 1 review)
What if you could do Dai Vernon's Triumph effect slowly, as if by some smooth and magical film-edit, the cards visually righted themselves?

In "Dissolve," a card is freely selected and returned to the deck. The cards are cleanly cut and then shuffled face-up into face-down. The magician riffles through the cards to show about half of the cards facing up, and half the cards facing down. He riffles through again, but this time more of the cards are facing up than are facing down. One final riffle reveals that all of the cards are facing up...except one. The cards visibly corrected themselves! When the cards are spread face-down, the single reversed card proves to be the selection.
  • Simple, no-sleights version taught.
  • Instantly repeatable with moderate sleight-of-hand
  • Can be used for a number of"normal deck" tricks (ambitious card, four-ace routines, etc.)
