Missing Link

Paul Curry

Mamma Mia Magic

(Based on 1 review)
The performer shows two ordinary lengths of rope; say one red and one blue. The ends of the red rope are tied together to form a loop. The blue rope is inserted through the red loop and its ends are also tied together. A spectator takes the ropes and then closes one hand around the linked section. After a pause he opens his hand to reveal that the two loops, though still knotted, are free of each other.

Comes complete with 2 lengths of rope and detailed, illustrated instruction sheet.

Rope Length Approximately 50" (127cm).

This is one of several effects I obtained this year from Wild Colombini magic. At this point I have not shared the effect with so many people, so I cant' offer 'audience response' here.

The effect itself I think is something that could have been learned from a book-much like a book I have which contains a similar Curry effect where two rope loops link while the magicians back is turned, and the ends are dangling down his back for all to see. This effect, could be shown along with Missing link-and it's findable in that recent book, by that fictional vaudeville magician named 'Mr. Mysterio'.

The handling for missing link, is quite accessable, the effect, inexplicable. This is one of those strong effects that happens with the most mundane of objects, just two ordinary pieces of rope.

The one move that must take place, had best happen casually, smoothly, and quickly. It takes two seconds, but, may take several, before mastering. At 10$, I'll say this is a very worthwhile secret and trick-possibly in a book somewhere-but here, you also get the ropes to use for this, and other tricks.
