Jon Armstrong is not only excellent technically, but he really thinks through routines and creates premises that make sense and are designed to really make an impact on his audience.

I’m not going to go into each effect he does, but I'll just say that his plot and handling for the Triumph and out-of-this-world routines are among the best out there! My routines with these themes are very much based on Jon's work.

I don’t care for gambling routines, and I think his monte routine is brilliant! So brilliant in fact, that I think I can adapt his routine without the gambling theme, by focusing just on his "find yourself" theme.

You are going to need to think and practice. His material is not difficult, but it is going to require a bit of elbow grease. I would say that his material is intermediate level.

If you’ve got the cahones, dive in.

Jon Armstrong is one of the best “thinkers” in magic, in my humble opinion. It is clear that he has thought through every routine he does and clearly he has refined his routines to not only be technically excellent, but also to get the strongest possible connection with an audience. I would say that Jon Armstrong is a “must see” for any aspiring magician.

Jon Armstrong has performed for some of the world's most prestigious audiences in over 30 countries worldwide. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, Jon became fascinated by the magic he saw in the theme parks around him and dreamed of one day having his own show. This dream came true when Disney asked him to bring his act to Epcot and he became the resident magician at Walt Disney World at the age of 20. Las Vegas was next as Jon became a recurring headliner at Caesar's Magical Empire. It was also during this time that he started touring around the world as both a performer and lecturer.

Jon now resides in Los Angeles and is a frequent performer at the world famous Magic Castle. His television appearances include A&E's Magic Castle After Dark and USA's Ready For The Weekend. He's also worked as a television consultant on such shows as CSI:NY, Las Vegas, The Wizards of Weverly Place= 20 and is currently a magic adviser on the hit CBS show The Mentalist. Within the magic community, Jon's been featured in MAGIC, The Linking Ring, and M-U-M. He also appeared on the cover of the December 2004 Genii in an issue dedicated to his magic. In April 2007, following two years of nominations, Jon was named Close-Up Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts.
