Link: The Linking Card Project

Motion Solutions (Vea Magic)

(Based on 1 review)
A new concept to realize the Linking card effect with no manipulation!

Imagine you have a deck of 52 cards and show them to the audience.

You take a card, you fold it in half and remove the center.

Sign your initials on the front of the card.

You invite the spectator to repeat the same steps with a freely selected card in the deck!

So, you have 2 cards with a hole in the center.

You take these cards and with no sleight the cards are linked!

THE CARD ARE REALLY LINKED! ITS NOT AN ILLUSION!

You then perform the steps in reverse to return the cards whole with the initials on same chosen cards! You can give the cards out to the spectators for examination and even let them keep them as a souvenir!

Contents : the gimmick in Bicycle blue or red back and DVD in English and French!

Materials for re-manufacturing the gimmick is included and you can make this little miracle with any of your playing cards deck.

STARS: 4.5

REVIEW

This is an excellent product for a very visual card link routine. I gave it 4.5 stars because it takes a bit of work to make this really effective. In the bonus section, I will describe what I think is an ideal use of this product. I will also reference another product for those not familiar with creating their own gaff cards.

RESET

The reset is a mixed story. If you do the impromptu link with your gimmick card and a participant selected card, the reset is pretty easy. In the bonus section, you will see that the way I use this effect takes a bit of work and would be best as a one-off routine for that special couple.

BONUS

This bonus routine is ideal for a wedding party or for a special pair of audience members who perhaps are recently married, or celebrating a special anniversary. Here it goes:

PREPARATION

If you are not familiar with how to create gaff cards, I highly recommend “Gimmicked” by Andost.

Take any two cards and fold them in half lengthwise. Unfold them and fold them again widthwise. Tear out a heart shape in the middle of each card. Carefully cut through one layer of card on the side of one card at the fold. Carefully split the card from the cut to just past the top fold. Place an indifferent card inside the split card and cut the opposite end of the card at the top fold. Place the second heart shape cut card that has not been split into the split card. Using rubber cement, glue the split card back together. You now have two permanently linked cards with a heart shape cut in the middle. You can make several of these gaffs.

Place one of the gaffs in your pocket and a sharpie in the other.

Place the duplicates of the linked card on top of the deck.

Prepare a linking gimmick that matches one of your force cards per the instructions on the DVD with a heart shaped hole in the middle.

PERFORMANCE

Invite a special couple to participate in this routine. Force the two top cards.

Force: Cut the deck and hold a break in the cards with your left pinkie by placing your pinkie into the middle of the deck. Riffle the front of the deck with your left thumb and ask them to say “stop”. Place your right pointer finger into the deck at the point they said stop. Grasp the back of the deck at the break with your right thumb and remove the cards above your break. You now have both of the force cards on top of the packet in your left hand. Hold out the left packet and have each one of them remove the top card.

Perform the Link routine as described in the DVD.

Tell your participants you want them to write their names on the linked cards.

Place the linked cards on top of the deck and go into your pockets with both hands. Place the deck on top of the permanently linked cards in your pocket and then dump the gimmick linked cards. From your other pocket, grasp the sharpie. Come out of your pockets with both hands at the same time.

Have them sign each of the cards as you hold them on the deck. You can also write down their marriage date on the cards.

Hand out the cards as a permanently linked souvenir.

They are bound to frame this souvenir.

I hope you enjoy it!
