Sly Scarves DVD

Tony Clark

(Based on 1 review)
Tony Clark will demonstrate the Single Knot Release, the Double and Triple Knot Release, as well as the Multiplying Knots. This powerful routine is explained in easy step-by-step instructions. You have a choice of front view, rear view, and split view! Plus the Flying Knot routine! This is a beautiful effect where two scarves are tied together and placed inside a wine glass. Then two loose scarves are placed into a second wine glass. With a wave of the hands, magically the scarves that were tied are now separate and the loose scarves in the other glass are now tied! Gimmicks to perfrom this routine are included!

Bonus Section:

Be a fly on the wall during a jam session with Tony Clark and Jonathan Neal Brown as they discuss variations on techniques and presentations of the Sly Scarves. You will also learn The Ghost Knot and Tony Clark's Scarf Thruough Arm!

Extra Bonus!!:

Rare vintage footage of the Master Slydini!
All this plus you get Two of Tony Clark's Sly Scarves made especially for this routine and two gimmicks use with the Flying Knot bonus routine.

On a side note...
I hear there's an interesting segment hidden somewhere on the DVD! I'm not sure what it's all about. I'm not even sure I was supposed to mention it! Too late!

I have been using this routine on and off for a long time now and I originally learned it from "The Magical World of Slydini" by Karl Fulves. Since Tony Clark is a well-respected performer and one of the last students of Slydini, I purchased this DVD to see what his handling of the effect/routine is like.

I love it! Tony teaches everything in great detail, but I think there was one or two times that the pace of the explanations was a bit faster than it probably should have been - they just felt a tad rushed. That is just my opinion but by no means does it detract from the quality of instruction, nor does it hinder the ability of anyone to learn the necessary moves and techniques from this video.

On the other hand I really loved the split screen explanations because it made everything even more clear to the viewer. It almost renders my above statement moot.

The video was crisp and the sound was clear, the menu was also easy to navigate.

I also really enjoyed the bonus section and the ideas from the discussion between Tony and Jonathan Neal Brown - lots of great things come out of this quite candid section!

Anyone of any skill level can learn everything needed to perform this routine from this DVD. The video is clear, the props are well made (although you may want to order yourself an extra set of the nylon "silks" for later, either as a backup set or for when you tear the bejeezus out of the first set from practicing).

One final note: The handling/presentation shown and taught on this DVD is that of Tony Clark - not Slydini. That is also one of the best parts here - it is the perfect example of a performer taking a routine and making it his own in presentation, even whilst using the same techniques as the originator. It is also something that Tony Clark encourages you to do after learning the techniques on this video.

If you have ever wanted to learn the Slydini Silks routine, I highly recommend this DVD!
