Finally, someone has done it. My rants about expensive one trick DVDs with no props have finally been heard . . . or it's a lucky coincidence. Either way, I'll take it. In general, I'm a fan of Mr. Mayne's. I've given his products every ranking from rubble to gem, from 1 to 5, but all in all I like him as a performer, and from what I can tell - I've never met him - as a person too.

For the more-than-reasonable price of $25.00 you get a DVD with very thorough instructions and 4 effects, a gimmick and a duplicate ungimmicked version of the prop. The trick is solid, and the bonus ideas are super clever as well. My favorite idea on the whole video is the Key Biter - Think of Blaine doing the Bite and restored quarter with a key. Mayne's handling was excellent and the illusion is very magical looking.

I'd recommend this DVD just for that one effect, but of course, you get 3 others as well. Granted you will only be able to do one of the four effects in any given performance, but the effects are excellent and look real. The handling is simple and with just a few minutes of fiddling around with everything I was able to do the basic handling without a problem.

A well made prop, an instructional DVD, only $25 bucks . . . 5 stars . . . total Gem.
