The effect is clear enough. A playing card or some other object is rubbed against the forearm of the performer, and a "tattoo" appears on the performer's arm. The object is again rubbed against the skin, and the mark vanishes.

The problem is that the method will also be clear to anyone viewing the performance. The actions performed by the magician are exactly what they look like: the act of applying something to the skin. And precisely where that "something" was hidden before it made its appearance will be obvious to even the most sedated observer.

Oh — have I mentioned that the materials necessary for performing Ghost Ink aren't included in the package?

If you want to perform the effect of an appearing tattoo and actually fool someone, try Tattoo Joe by Joe Russell.
