Basically, you are taught how to make two gimmicks that allow you to cause a playing card to turn into a dollar bill and/or a dollar bill to change into a playing card.

Ad Copy

The ad copy is pretty accurate. However, it does say that the change happens with no switch. That's not quite true. Once the card is "chosen" you have to switch it out for the gimmick. Same goes for the dollar bill. If you borrow a bill, you have to switch it for a gimmick before you can perform the change.

However, once you've made the switch, the change is very visual. The switch itself does not effect the change. It's a secret switch that places a gimmick in your possession. It is the gimmick that allows you to make the visual changes.

Effect(s)

Four main effects are taught on the DVD. One results in a bill changing into a card and the card changing into a bill. Another results in a blank check (or dollar bill) offered as a wager that turns into the "selected" card. The third effect is sort of a crappy and convoluted version of Card Warp. Based on the method shown, you couldn't actually do it in front of a close up audience; it would expose part of the gimmick. Maybe at a distance it would work, but then the effect would be lost. The fourth effect is two different versions of "guess which hand has the bill and which hand has the card . . . ha ha, you're wrong!" Finally, you are shown several techniques to effect the change using your homemade gimmick.

Teaching

The teaching was pretty good. The gimmick construction part was very clear. However, the various effects were pretty rambly and all over the place. Much of it was just walked through, rather than taught or shown. In many cases you are asked to imagine a part of the gimmick rather than being shown the actual gimmick. Often Chris Webb seemed a bit confused as to what exactly he was trying to teach. He would repeat stuff multiple times making it a bit more confusing. He would also constantly say that you place "this on the table" but it was one of the gimmicks that actually cannot be placed on the table.

The explanations of the various change techniques were done silently, and ranged from pretty clear to somewhat confusing. However having said all of that, the basic information is there, and as tough as it is to get through at points, it's get-through-able.

Final Thoughts

Take a peek at the video trailer demo. If you like the effect, I think you'll be happy with your purchase. You will be taught how to make two gimmicks that have a ton of potential. Frankly I felt the DVD didn't even scratch the surface of the potential. The gimmicks are super easy to make, and are very easy to use, so if you feel you have a use for the effect of transforming a dollar to a card or a card to a dollar, then your only question is whether or not you're willing to pay 35 bucks for such an effect.

Final Verdict:
3.5 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem.
