Name Any Card - The magician knows the exact position of any card the spectator names.

Memory Exhibition - The spectator chooses any card and moves it to any other position in the pack while the magician's back is turned. With just a gaze at the new order, the magician can pinpoint the spectator's chosen card and where it is.

Overview

Instant Memorized Deck by Woody Aragon is a memorized deck “lite” card routine. If you ever wanted to recreate the look and feel of what a memorized deck performance is, but did not want to expend the effort into committing an entire deck to memory, this may be something you would like to try.

Effect

Perform an entire set of card magic with a borrowed deck utilizing the basic principles of a memorized deck stack. On this DVD Woody Aragon demonstrates and teaches six card effects that flow from one to another with virtually no setup between. Recreate tricks that cannot be done by any other method but with a memorized deck.

Method

Utilizing the basics of a memorized deck, this DVD will give you the groundwork on developing an entire set which resembles those performed by magicians who use a card stack. Woody Aragon teaches the initial setup from a borrowed deck, how to memorize the ten key cards needed, shuffling and cutting to maintain the order and finally, how to perform one trick to another without resetting the deck in an obvious manner.

Product Quality

The DVD is very comprehensive. There is nothing left out and each trick is performed and explained thoroughly. Every nuance is explained from setting up the initial borrowed deck, memorizing the needed cards and maintaining the stack while performing. The photography, audio, lighting and pacing of the DVD is very good.

Ad Copy Integrity

For the most part I think the product delivers as advertised. I would clarify that although it states “the routines require no difficult slights”, the initial setup would require either a good culling method or incredible acting to initially setup the deck from a borrowed deck. In addition, if you wanted to not have to deal the cards in piles, a good faro shuffle followed by a straddle faro will have to be executed. So yes, it can be done with no slights but….

Final Thoughts

Unlike learning six or seven card tricks individually and trying to cobble them together into a routine, Instant Memorized Deck gives you the goods to have an act which has been honed to perfection by one of the most creative card magicians around.
