December 1892 - soft white flakes of snow are already beginning to carpet the countryside of Sussex when Sherlock Holmes embarks upon a cracker of a mystery adventure. He, together with Watson, reluctantly accepts an unexpected invitation to join a Christmas house party in Sussex. Their host appears to be a good-natured and expansive philanthropist with nothing in mind other than the obvious rewards of bringing joy and Christmas cheer to his guests but no sooner has the party commenced when the festivities are brought to a sudden and dramatic halt by an event horrific and evil in its intent.

Sherlock Holmes is, as ever, equal to the challenge he faces although initially this yule-tide mystery proves to be one of the most baffling cases he has ever experienced.
