L.O.V.E. is visual multiple card change with a fun story line and a twist. In L.O.V.E., the spectator says “when” during a dribble (or other method) and picks the top four "random" cards, which are both red and black cards; a 7, Queen, Ace and 3. After discussing one of many story lines, about the emotions or the hidden messages in cards, the performer quickly brushes the cards against the deck and the numbers and letters in the corners of the cards, visually change into all red letters, L.O.V.E., instead of the 7.Q.A.3. It is a surprising and unique ending, which is enhanced by the fact that four cards can be handed out for inspection.

The trick comes with an excellently produced 12 minute instructional DVD and three needed gaffed bicycle backed playing cards manufactured by USPCC. Chris from Sans Mind Magic gives a high energy rapid pace presentation, which is clear and easy to follow. The promotional video accurately depicts the trick and gives you a peek into the engaging patter that one can use during the routine. I do not think that you end “completely clean” as is claimed in the ad copy, but it is close enough. With that being said, you cannot immediately hand out the entire deck of cards, if anyone requests to see it. The ad copy is accurate in that is claims the trick is “a quick visual piece of magic that’s straight to the point.”

To perform this trick as cleanly as is demonstrated in the promotional video, it will require a bit of practice. This trick is not for a beginner who is unwilling to put in some practice. This is a good close-up trick that would work well in a table-hopping situation.
