Since nothing is handy, you'll have to resort to magic. With a wave, the gum visibly transforms back into a brand-new dry stick of gum! Another magical pass and it's now completely wrapped!
You can even give it out for inspection! This seems so real that the spectators never see the magic coming until it hits them between the eyes!

Sticky situation is a neat effects where you remove a piece of chewed gum from your mouth and proceed to stretch it out into a piece of stick gum. But, you need a way to store that stick of gum so with just a shake it instantly becomes wrapped.
I believe that this trick is best suited for a sort of off-the-cuff street magic trick. It would still play well and I restaurant style gig but I think it seems so much more organic if you are doing this as "A spur of the moment" type trick.
Once you open up the package, you'll immediately know how the effect is done. However, do not be discouraged with the method because simple methods are often the most fooling. There are no difficult sleights for this, and set up will take maybe two minutes, but once you do that first two minutes you probably won't have to do it ever again.
In conclusion, I really like this as an off the cuff type of trick. You just have to make sure that you always have the gimmick on you.
