This is an interesting DVD on magic designed to work in bar situations. While this might not be the most glamourous context, it has been a profitable one for many magicians. Chris Randal gives us eight professional routines that are fast, visual, and for the most part, make sense.

This material is for the sleight of hand, show off kind of performer. Don’t expect mentalism, or sleightless card routines here. While this isn’t my favorite style of magic, I think Chris offers some solid advice and some solid material on this DVD.

My favorite effect is a routine where you produce all the items needed to make a cocktail.

The sound levels are odd at some points, and while it seems the bar they are filming in is closed, there is a lot of background noise, and Chris is distracted at several points by things going on off screen. This could have been easily avoided by filming on a different day, or going to a different location.

If your style of magic is flashy, sleight heavy, and suitable for bars, you will find lots of great material to add to your work on this disk.
