Nick Langham's Royal Command Is an easy to perform card rise that's like no other.

Your spectator creates an almost perfect poker hand in their mind (almost because they need a fifth card to complete it). They scan through the imaginary cards in their hand and for the first time name the missing card ie suit and value (remember this hand only exists in their mind) You now draw attention to a deck which has been on full view throughout the performance. The cards are removed from the deck and you ask your spectator to concentrate on the card that will complete their winning hand. The thought of card now eerily rises from the deck!

This is a sure-fire, commercial crowd-pleaser!

Set includes gimmicks and a DVD with tips, presentations and bonus ideas. (Just add your own deck)

I’ll be up front, this effect is not my cup of tea. However, I know many of you reading will find this interesting, so read on!

This effect allows you to make any court card rise out of the deck. With equivoque, or other methods taught on the DVD, you can make it SEEM like they name any card in the deck, and you cause it to rise. Now, the trade-off is you have to hold the deck in your hand, out of the box, in order for it to rise. I feel this is not the ideal image for a rising card effect. The card also can’t be removed from the deck once it has risen.

However, the gimmicks are really well made, and the method is extremely diabolical, making this is the perfect thing to bust out for some magicians at a convention or during a session. The packaging is nice and the DVD is well produced.

The DVD included teaches you everything you need to know, while there are times when I felt like the two guys on camera didn’t really compliment each other. One talks more then the other, and they don’t have too many differing points to warrant them both to be on camera the whole time. That said, the information is conveyed in a clear way, and you will be able to work the effect quickly & easily.

I don’t see this as a lay person trick. I think it’s more amazing for a lay person to have a selected card rise from a deck they are holding, then a named card from a deck the magician is holding. For a magician, this is a real head scratcher though.

This one is straightforward. It’s a fair product for a pretty good price. The gimmicks are all made by hand so that’s why this is a little more expensive than most effects like it. If you are looking for something that’s really going to mess with magicians, then this just may be what you are looking for.
