Gem or Rubble? Well that depends. If you’re looking for a lot of new ideas for close up strolling, I’d say you’re bordering on rubble. If you’re looking for some solid commercial stuff for a hospitality suite-style venue, then you’re bordering on the gem side of things.
Overall, I think this set is a Gem. It has a lot of cool ideas and variations on old plots. It’s performed in front of a live audience which is always good to watch and learn from. There are three DVDs in the set. You can buy them individually or all at once. Most magic shops will give you a price break if you buy all three at once. Each DVD has at least 1 or 2 effects that are Gems.
There are a handful of effects that are hard core intense sleight of hand, and can only be performed in specific circumstances, and the effect isn’t exactly that powerful or even clear. Also, his “patter” is the standard lame patter of “hey look at this; then watch this, now I’ll take this coin and do this. Now watch me move this over here…” Not too exciting. But, don’t let that hold you back, I still think there are some effects that are worth the cost.
