Imagine the best magic, the best magicians, and the best producers all in one place.
Imagine no more...
If you could have one set of magic DVDs, this would be it! This benchmark collection features just about all of magic's most enduring and classic effects and routines. It's a fabulous compendium with many of the top masters in the world of magic teaching their handlings and routines for some of magic's classics. Linking rings, sponge balls, metal bending, cups and balls, thumb tips, Zombie, color-changing knives, and many, many more topics are all gathered in this one terrific DVD reference set. Each volume covers a specific subject and features new, old, and sometimes rare footage by some of the top video producers in magic.
There are many who would argue that the Ace assembly trick that has come to be known as MacDonald's Aces is the strongest card trick you can do for a layman. Though you may have a different opinion, you just may be tempted to change your mind after witnessing the six world-class performances on this volume.
Leading off, Michael Ammar presents an easy-to-master, yet extremely effective, version of MacDonald's Aces while Johnny Thompson offers a take that intimately involves the spectators. John Mendoza is next with the approach of a classicist while Alexander deCova embellishes his interpretation with an amazing - and amazingly simple - four Ace production. Rising card star John Guastaferro offers up two versions. The first features complete vanishes of the Aces rather than a transposition and also supplies a strong presentational hook while the second is the perfect solution for performing this extremely strong card effect for a much larger audience. Lastly, Martin Nash dons his "Charming Cheat" persona and removes the Aces one at a time right from under a spectator's hand.
Once again, MacDonald's Aces is one of card magic's rare feats - a genuine jaw-dropping miracle - and on this volume, you'll find seven of the finest treatises ever created.

Those of you who have read my other reviews pertaining to this series will notice that I have exactly the same thing to say about all of them.
BUY THESE DVDs!!!
On “The Secrets of MacDonald’s Aces” Michael Ammar, Johnny Thompson, John Mendoza, Alexander DeCova, John Guastaferro and Martin Nash all perform and explain their handlings of this most wonderful effect. My favorite routine on this DVD is John Guastaferro’s “Vino Aces”. I think you will all enjoy watching a young Martin Nash perform and Johnny Thompson is always inspiring.
I really enjoy the DVDs in this L&L series. I have yet to view one that I was not crazy about.
I am a big fan of the compilation format. I enjoy watching several different magicians performing back to back. I love listening to different schools of thought and I love hearing about how a routine was developed.
If this effect interests you I strongly recommend this DVD. The performances are culled from the vast L&L video library. The production of these DVDs is great, the format is easy to navigate and the talent is top notch.
“The Secrets of MacDonald’s Aces” is just one volume of the multi volume “World’s Greatest Magic by the World’s Greatest Magicians” series by L&L. Each volume is dedicated to a single magic effect. Each volume contains a multitude of legendary performers, performing and explaining their version of a classic piece of magic. These DVDs are an excellent introduction for those just starting out in magic. The older dog looking to bone up on the classics will find that these DVDs are a wonderful reference tool.
If I could have just one set of magic DVDs, WGMBTWGM would be it. L&L offers the best of the best in “World’s Greatest Magic by the World’s Greatest Magicians”. And they are offering it at the best price!!!
If I invited you to a lecture where the masters of magic were going to teach their handlings of classic magic effects, would you show up? Gosh darn bet you would!
Especially if I told you the lecture was only going to cost you 20 bucks!
