Well . . . it's a deck of cards. There's not much to say. They handle well. They're smooth. They do feel a bit different different from traditional Bikes. They have a little bit of a plasticy feel to them. The ad copy claims that " these cards were made to last for Magicians and Flourishers." I imagine that with the plastic-ish feel that there's some sort of coating that helps them last longer. The only way to know for sure is to check back with me in a few weeks or so when I've had a change to really work them. So far, however, they feel solid and sturdy.

The art work is a matter of tastes, so I'll let you decide if you like that based on the product image. The lightening bolt image is what you see on the card box. The other image (on the left of the main product image) with the Roman pillars and the Roman Numeral One (I) in the middle is the back design of the cards. They have a white border like standard Bikes. The faces are identical to a normal deck with three exceptions. The Jokers are identical to each other, and rather than a Joker and a Guarantee card you get a somewhat fancy looking pillar. Also, the Ace of Spades is an image of the front of a Pegasus (horse with wings), that has its wings lifted above its body to form the shape of a spade.

Also, the cards seem to be a bit brighter (i.e., whiter) than a regular deck. Along with the regular deck you also get a double facer and a blank faced card. Obviously this opens up a few doors for various effects. The DF will work with a standard deck of Bikes. The bottom line is whether or not it's worth paying ten bucks for a deck of cards. That's subjective. I think it's a nice deck that's well made. Personally, however, I pretty much only use red or blue bikes. So I'll let you decide whether it's worth the ten bucks or not.

I'd say that if you're a deck collector, get this one for sure. If you just like using different decks of cards in your magic, consider this one. If you just like the red or blue Bikes, skip this one.

Final Verdict:
4 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem

P.S. - The deck won't make you be able to do the fancy finger flinging found in the trailer

When I was unpacking the latest shipment from MLA HQ, I pulled out this pack of playing cards. I thought to myself “how do I review a pack of playing cards?” My wife spotted the stack with the pack of Titans on top and asked “how will you review a deck of cards?” The more I thought about the challenge, the more I believe it comes down to two criteria: quality of workmanship and out of the box handling.

The Titan pack is a well made deck of cards. The printing and manufacturing is solid. There are no off center or out of square printing errors that you see on some USPC decks. The deck shuffled well, fanned well and faroed fairly well. They won’t require too much break-in.

For the card collectors, the back design has elements of classic architecture. The faces are standard with the exception of the Jokers and the Ace of Spades. The former are highly stylized columns. The latter is what I believe to be Pegasus with its wings touching to form the Spade. You also receive one blank face and one double facer.

The price point for the deck is market for special edition decks. If the design appeals to you and you want something different for your card magic, then check out a pack of Titans.
