I love this trick!
It's a real audience pleaser!!!
I have yet to think find anyone who is not impressed with it.
This is a cheaper version as the top models can go for $100's. But never the less very good.
The only draw back of this trick is all the cards land up all over the floor and SOMEONE has to pick them up! If your doing cabaret or in a hall, then it tends to ruin the act when the audience see you or your assistant picking them up after your performance. Leaving them there looks very untidy and unprofessional.
I have one word of warning. If you are doing the trick on your own and you get the spectator to throw the cards be warned... Make sure that they have actually thrown the cards in the air before you stab at them. I have seen two magicians fool foul when the spectator has pretended to throw the cards but held onto them and the magician has stabbed into the air and ended up with the three cards or his sword. Although quite funny, it does tend to ruin the trick.
You could of course use a card fountain.
