Farquhar, Shawn

(Based on 1 review)
From the only magician to win both the Close-Up and Stage awards from the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians, Shawn Farquhar presents an effect intimate enough for close-up performances, yet big enough for the stage, too.
A spectator freely selects a card from a shuffled pack. As the magician opens his jacket to retrieve a pen for the spectator to sign the card, the audience notices the security tag is still inside his jacket! "I got this jacket for a real steal." The spectator's signed card is replaced and the deck is shuffled. With a snap of the fingers, the magician states that the selection has now vanished from the pack! The audience quickly scans through the deck and can't find their selection. The magician shows empty hands and again opens his jacket, showing the spectator's signed card is now impaled by the security tag! The card is removed with a rip and handed back to the spectator.

Bought this trick from the man himself at his lecture at the 2009 SAM Convention. It is a great trick in itself and the gimmick can be used in dozens of different effects. It is a great item and adds a clever comedy prop for your act.
