A woman volunteer from the audience is invited to join the magician on stage. She takes a seat and the performer displays a drinking glass which is handed to her for examination. She holds onto the glass and the performer then offers her a variety of different colored condoms, requesting that she choose her favorite! After a bit of byplay, she chooses one, opens it, rolls it up and places the condom on the glass.
The magician then covers the volunteer's eyes and asks her to picture in her mind a few different things (ooh la la) and hey presto! To the audience's surprise and enjoyment the condom swells and rises on the glass.

I have used this item to killer effect for receptive adult comedy club audiences...but not without some serious reworking of the routine included. The included routine proved to be too drawn out and anticlimactic for the American comedy club stage. The actions of the performer allow the audience to easily anticipate the blow-off or comedic punch...squelching laughter and applause. But, with a little imagination and sleight of hand the routine can be reworked to keep the blow-off a surprise and guarantee success. My favorite...using a male volunteer and having my assistant seductively walk by to deliver a prop...just as the condom starts to rise. I think the effect is overpriced for the materials and routine included.
