Hang 'em High

Bob Sheets

Here is the Bob Sheets performance and explanation of "Hang em High", the rope thru the body routine! You saw it on the Travel Channel special, Magic in the Streets. A Full 9 Minute live show performed at Magic Island and Bob's routines for Cards Across, Insomnia, the Idiot Rope Trick and Bob's Rope thru Body "Hang em High". The patter, jokes and touches that have made this routine a stand out winner in Bob's own performance since 1983. A "Tarbell Rope Gimmick" is required to perform the Hang 'em High routine.

I don't have the Bob Sheet's DVD where the other routines are described, but I do have his Hang 'em High rope through the body.

It is a wonderful effect that always knocks the audience out. Since I purchased this there have been a lot of other chain and light cords through the body effects. The strength of the Sheet's version is that you start out with an "ordinary" rope that the audience can handle (with care).

It is extremely strightforward, two spectators help, the rope is stretched behind the body. The performer grasps the rope close to his sides and with one movement the rope seems to just dissolve through his body, leaving the two spectators still holding it.

A great effect that always has a good impact.
