Ring Through Laces is exactly what it sounds like. From the spectator's point of view, you put any borrowed ring on top of the knot of your shoelaces and after a quick shake of your foot, the ring penetrates through the laces and ends up inside one of the shoelace loops.
This trick comes with two gimmicks to ready two different pair of shoes (more likely sneakers) and a DVD. The DVD is shot well and although the instructor's first language is not English (and the DVD contains some grammatical errors) it is easy to follow and very easy to set up and perform.
This trick cannot be performed with any pair of shoes (really laces) and for that reason certain type of laces are needed. You cannot perform this with dress shoes.
The effect looks good and the trick is a fooler. Immediately before performing this trick, you will need to set up the laces. You will not be able to walk around with the gimmick in ready position and sometimes the laces can look a bit "off." Although no spectators asked to examine the laces (after about a dozen performances) I was cognizant of the fact that the laces cannot be examined. It takes about a second to get ready and about a second to reset. After the trick is performed, you can tie your laces normally.
This is a quick and fun trick that is easy to perform.
